Universal Testing Machine

The universal testing machine type "QUASAR" is designed as a single-chamber testing machine
and fundamentally consists of the following components:

Machine frame, the construction and structure of the machine load frame is designed
where necessary for the specified maximum loads:

Electromechanical load application with belt drive, timing pulleys,
drive with DC or brushless servo motor and ball screw spindles.
Load measurement system with load cell suitable for tension and compression.

Electronic control unit, which executes all functions:
regulation and control, monitoring and recording of the output signals
of the measurement amplifiers for force, strain, and crosshead travel.
The system is based on a 32-bit processor with a clock speed of 25 MHz; the
recording of the analog signals is done by an A/D converter with 20-bit resolution.
The electronic control is usually placed in the base of the machine.
This also applies to most electrical components of the drive and power supply.

Operator interface with PC, connected to the electronic control and monitoring board
via a serial RS232 interface with a high transmission speed of 38400 baud.
