Abrasion Testing Device TVAB 5420-7N

The TVAB abrasion testing device is so precise that it has set the standards for ISO 6722-1.

It was developed to test the durability of cable insulation under extreme conditions

and to measure very specific durability variables.

This device abrades the surface of the insulation in both directions along the longitudinal axis of the specimen.

A counter records the number of cycles until failure.

When the needle penetrates the insulation and touches the conductor, the machine stops operating.

    Needle diameter: (0.45 ± 0.01) mm
    Needle type: Spring wire (polished) according to ISO 6931-1
    Frequency: (55 ± 5) cycles/min (one cycle consists of a back-and-forth movement)
    Stroke of the needle: (20 ± 1) mm
    Abrasion length: (15.5 ± 1) mm
