Bruker VERTEX
Here we offer a Bruker Vertex 70 spectrometer with Hyperion microscope.
The HYPERION microscope is designed for IR spectroscopic measurements of micro samples
and small sample areas as well as for the examination of inhomogeneous samples.
To do this, the microscope must be coupled to an FT-IR spectrometer from the TENSOR or VERTEX-
series. (Coupling to older spectrometer models from Bruker may also be possible.) In combination with a spectrometer from the
TENSOR series, the microscope can only be coupled to the right side of the spectrometer.
In combination with a spectrometer from the VERTEX series, it can be coupled to both
the right and left sides of the spectrometer.
In addition to the spectrometer, further optional accessories (e.g., external sample chamber
IMAC) can be coupled to the HYPERION microscope at the left or right beam exit. More information can be found in the chapter Standard Components
and Options section Other Optional Accessories.
HYPERION 1000 - Basic variant (This variant is designed for IR spectroscopic measurements
in transmission and reflection. Additionally, optional objectives are available for this variant, e.g., ATR objective and GIR objective.)
The basic variant includes:
• A 670 HYPERION, infrared microscope
• A 672-T Transparent Cutting Aperture
• Manual table
• D316 - MCT detector
• Reflection device
• Additionally required: specific spectrometer adaptation
VERTEX 70 is a fully digital FT-IR spectrometer for demanding applications
in the field of research and development. The standard configuration of the spectrometer
is designed for measurements in the mid-infrared range. Optionally, the spectrometer
can be equipped with additional optical components to cover the entire spectral range
- from far infrared at 15 cm-1 to the visible range at 28,000 cm-1.
The pre-adjusted optical components and the permanently adjusted RockSolid interferometer
allow for quick and easy expansion of the spectral range. In the extended
spectrometer configuration (i.e., spectrometer with two detector positions and two source positions)
you can select the source and detector using the software. If you want to replace the detector
or the beam splitter, removable, airtight covers
allow access to these components.
The VERTEX 70 spectrometer is primarily operated using a data processing system
(PC, notebook, etc.). Setting the measurement parameters, starting a
spectroscopic measurement, and validating the spectrometer are done exclusively using
the spectroscopy software OPUS. Additionally, the spectrometer has an Ethernet interface,
allowing remote control of the spectrometer via an intranet or the internet.
The sample chamber and optical bench of the VERTEX 70 spectrometer can be purged with dry air
or gaseous nitrogen. This significantly reduces the proportion of unwanted air components
(e.g., water vapor and carbon dioxide) inside the spectrometer.
Residual absorptions from these naturally occurring air components negatively
affect the measurement result by causing additional noise and potentially obscuring weaker spectral sample information in the IR spectrum.
Purging is a widely used method in FT-IR spectroscopy to reduce these air components in the spectrometer optics.
The VERTEX 70 has five beam exits (on the right and left sides as well as at the front)
and two beam inputs (on the right side and at the back), to which you can connect a range
of optional accessories and/or components, such as:
• Coupling of TGA devices and GC devices
• PMA50 accessory (Polarization Modulation Accessory) for applications in VCD and PM-IRRAS
• IR microscope HYPERION 1000 and HYPERION 2000
• Imaging microscope HYPERION 3000
• IMAC (imaging chamber)
• HTS-XT module (High Throughput Screening Extension)
• Microbiological module
• FT Raman module (RAM II)
• FIR bolometer (connected to the left beam exit at the front of the spectrometer).
