BIANCA/BRICK-XL2, the new flagship of the BIANCA/BRICK router family, completes the family of ISDN remote access servers from BinTec Communications. The architecture of BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 features various new performance characteristics that make the product particularly suitable as a communication server for corporate headquarters and Internet Service Providers. BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 operates with the proven communication modules that are also available for BIANCA/BRICK-XM and BIANCA/BRICK-XL. This provides a complete range of LAN, WAN, and ISDN interfaces for all application areas. BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 has seven slots for communication modules and can be equipped with up to 64 modem channels. BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 can manage up to 120 B-channels with the help of PRI modules. Another feature of the BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 is the implementation of DRAD technology. DRAD stands for Dynamic Resource Allocation & Distribution and refers to the system's ability to allocate available system resources to any B-channel. This is important for the use of modem or data compression resources, which are no longer assigned exclusively (and in parallel) to each B-channel, but form a resource pool from which resources can be allocated to each B-channel as needed. All BinTec routers are characterized by the implementation of the Remote-CAPI standard. The Remote-CAPI technology enables the realization of comprehensive communication server solutions in both homogeneous and heterogeneous network architectures. With BIANCA/BRICK-XL2, in addition to digital ISDN connections, connections with all common fax machines and modems up to V.90 modem technology with 56 kbit/s are possible.
