The model can be used in standalone operation, but its strength lies in the easy combination (Plug and Play) of individual devices both among themselves and in connection with other SuperStack II systems such as Hub 10 or Hub 100, the 10 Mbit/s or 100 Mbit/s hubs.

All switch products are part of the SuperStack II architecture, feature an SNMP agent, and are RMON-capable, allowing them to be managed, for example, via the 3Com software Transcend. A redundant power supply and/or an UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) ensure reliability.
